“We love the 5mRx® Dispensing Solution!”

For more than 8 years, the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Center of Oregon has been dispensing medicines using the 5mRx’s® Dispensing Software System. This dispensing solution enables physicians to dispense prescriptions, saving them and their patients time and money.  According to Janelle Haoms, who manages dispensing for the surgery center, “We originally started using the 5mRx® Dispensing System as something new to offer our patients, and now we’re averaging approximately 15 prescriptions per day.  We have found that 5mRx® makes prescribing and obtaining medicines much easier for us and our patients.  We love it.”

When asked what other benefits they’ve found in addition to the convenience provided the 5mRx® system, Janelle stated “We’ve found that our patients without insurance save money.  Using the 5mRx® solution, we can offer patients pharmaceuticals at lower prices compared to traditional drug stores.  It’s an important benefit of the system to our patients.” She continued, “Besides convenience and saving money, the doctor finds that 5mRx® eases the workload in the office as well.  With 5mRx®, we no longer have to call pharmacies with the prescriptions for our patients.  By eliminating these calls, the office saves a lot of time and effort.”

As a part of the solution, 5mRx® uses the m-pack® flat pharmacy vial which represents the first new pharmacy vial since the 1950s.  “We love the flat packaging as we can store a lot of medicines,” Janelle shared.  “With all the prescriptions we fill daily, we need to store many of the prefilled vials in a small space.  Since the vials are different, we’ve learned to show new patients, especially the elderly, how to open and use them.”

After more than 8 years, the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Center of Oregon has found the 5mRx® dispensing solution as a valuable tool that offers convenience, lowers costs, and saves time for both staff and patients.
